About Kimberly Locke
Kimberly Ann Locke is a Los Angeles-based director, writer, and producer. Originally from Fort Pierce, Florida, she’s spent the last five years building a body of work spanning film, theatre, and emerging technology. She holds a BFA in Television Arts: Acting for Camera from AMDA College of the Performing Arts, trained at Los Angeles Center Studios — giving her a rare understanding of performance that directly informs how she works with actors on set.
Her debut as a playwright and director, Fun Factory premiered at the El Portal Theatre. The play — a sharp, historically researched portrait of forgotten silent film star Mabel Normand — earned a 7 on The BlackList and drew praise for her “strong gift in dialogue and innovative stagecraft.” That stagecraft included a massive rotating vanity mirror built onstage that converted into a circular projection screen, pulling silent film footage into live performance. Critics called it “a powerful play that has a bright future.”
Kimberly’s directorial and writing work is stripped down in films like Stone Faced, a minimalist short about death and sisterhood, and Pythoness, a dramatic comedy about witches and revenge. Her background as an actor — including The Birth, (3.3 million YouTube views) and festival award-winner Snack Time — speak to her range and creative sensibility.
Currently, she serves as Assistant to Director/Producer Rupert Wainwright at Adore Creative, where she is embedded across every aspect of an independent feature film currently in pre-production and set to shoot this fall with a $30M budget. She is also integrating AI into the previs and VFX pipeline on the project.
She heads Loser World Productions, whose motto is weird, wonderful, and adaptive — a talent incubator developing new distribution models with a feature film in development. She is also independently developing two original TV series -- One being a hybrid AI animation comedy series and the other a YA true crime drama series.
