Fun Factory on the Blk List
Fun Factory is a surrealistic character study on the death of potential, centering on the iconic silent film star Mabel Normand. The play brings Mabel back to life on stage to navigate the alienation and betrayal that defined her ambitious rise and tragic fall. With a stint at running her own studio, Mabel’s sharp wit and visionary intellect collide with the patriarchal systems intent on stifling her creativity. Blending slapstick comedy and biting social commentary, the play captures Mabel's brilliance, heartbreak, and enduring legacy in Hollywood's early days. Anchored by inventive stagecraft and authentic dialogue, Fun Factory is both a celebration and a critique—a poignant reminder of the women whose stories have been overlooked but refuse to be forgotten.
